Dear Coaches, Parents/Guardian and Athletes:
Player safety is a concern of everyone, and as an organization we make your child's safety a first priority. A set of steps that we require all members, players, coaches, and parents to be aware of are the signs of, impacts from, and steps to take in the cases of head or heart emergencies while participating in soccer activities with S.E.L.S.C., Inc. The below guidelines are mandated and provided by the State of Ohio through two separate laws, Ohio Revised Code 3313.539/3313.539 "Ohio’s Return-to-Play Law" & Ohio Revised Code 3313.5310, 3707.58 and 3707.59 "OHIO LINDSAY’S LAW." It is a requirement of law and our organization that you and your child review the below informaiton and take the necessary steps (return or eSign in the case of Lindsay's Law) each season during registration. Please contact us, [email protected], should you have any questions or concerns.
Regards,
SELSC Board
As of April 26, 2013, Ohio’s Return-to-Play law (ORC 3313.539 or ORC 3313.539) requires that Ohio youth athletes who are suspected of sustaining a concussion, MUST be removed from practice or play. Ohio laws prohibit a child to return to play (practice or competition) on the same day that he/she is removed on suspicion of having sustained a concussion. He/she may return the following day if cleared in writing by a physician (MD or DO) or other authorized healthcare provider that they did not sustain a concussion.
